This is not your ordinary fancy dinner out on a Friday or Saturday night (or any day of the week) this fun social scene is full of energy and fun. A vibrant atmosphere creates a place you can’t just go once, in fact, order to get the vibe– due to the always changing food trucks and events, I ‘had’ to go twice to write this community spotlight at Stony Creek Brewery in Branford, CT.
Stony Creek Brewery is set back in Branford on the river near recently refurbished industrial buildings and across from the famous Lobster Shack (which I highly recommend, try their clam chowder–it’s amazing!!). The location allows for great late summer evenings on the water and is a fabulous choice for those looking to relax after work with friends and a good drink. The outdoor patio is expansive and overlooks the beautiful water, the marina, and the gorgeous sunsets over the winding river and trees.
The ever changing events and food trucks include local bands, private events, and various food trucks such as Shoreline Prime, Frank Andrews Mobile Kitchen, Bull & Swine, and much more. When my husband and I visited we indulged in a gyro from Greekinout and some Greek fries–delicious!!! It’s a great way to try out new foods whenever you visit, or head on over to the Lobster Shack for a hot buttery lobster roll, which we did on our second visit, and can’t wait to go back!
Stony Creek main’s star is its variety of brews which the brewmaster has spent a lot of time working on blending the best flavors from all over the country to produce many amazing choices! Choose from the ‘Crankies’, lagers, ales, ‘Flip the birds’, and seasonals. Their slogan includes “aggressively laid back beers” and it is very fitting for not only the beers but also the entire brewery and atmosphere. We tried a beer flight and lost track of which beers were the best… oops, but I guess they must have been good! 🙂 Another visit is in order!
I definitely recommend leaving work a little early this week to check this place out if you haven’t already, it gets super busy on the weekends and during big events. A few to check out in the near future: September 15, ‘Playing for a Cure’ and an event called ‘Namaste and drink a beer’. Sounds fun to me, see you there!!
